Renew, Rebuild, Restore
Residents of Jefferson County are encouraged to apply for assistance through the Rescue & Restore Rehab Initiative. Selected applicants can receive a grant of up to $25,000 to cover home repairs to ensure basic habitability, and occupant health and safety. Priority will be given to the elderly and those with disabilities.
Initial Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Occupy the assisted property as the primary residence.
- Participate in a self-sufficiency program.
- Be at or below 80% of the Area Median Income (AMl)1 for county of residence.

REHAB funds can be used for the following:
- Roof Repairs or Replacement
- Flooring
- Electrical
- Plumbing
- House Leveling
- Sewer Repairs
- Installation of ADA Compliance Ramps
- Additional Repairs (upon approval)
How to Apply
Assistance is appointment based. You must make an appointment with Legacy CDC to confirm your eligibility and complete an application. Please bring the following documents to your meeting:
- Driver’s License or valid ID
- Social Security Card
- Proof of income for the last two months
- Proof of ownership of home (Deed)
- Previous six months bank statements
- Tax statements (must be current on taxes or on a current payment plan)
